ABOUT

A Montreal-born artist with multicultural roots, Amanda Mabro is a critically-acclaimed singer-songwriter, vocalist, vocal coach, vocal producer, event producer and performance artist. With a career that has spanned over 20 years, she is known for the "open-heart surgery of her genre-straddling songs" (Jordan Zivitz, Montreal Gazette) and powerful, engaging performances that have charmed international audiences, from the Montreal Jazz Festival and the Brussels Opera House to OSHEAGA and the Toronto Jazz Festival. She’s shared stages with Celine Dion, Arcade Fire, Franz Ferdinand, Raul Midon, Vanessa Carlton, Jill Hennessy, among others; and has collaborated on production and songwriting with Canadian icon Ron Sexsmith, Juno winning producers Rob Szabo and Tim Abraham, long time co-writing partner Rick Coluccio and most recently, with band mate Sebastian Freeman as part of Electro-Alternative duo 30 Frames.  At the same time as her fan base grew, Amanda began to get requests from a variety of performers seeking a wide range of vocal and performance help leading her to coach all sorts of artists ranging from Juno winners, orators, actors and stand-up comedians.

Over the years, Amanda has developed a reputation as an artist who fosters community. In 2003, she launched the first edition of WAWA (We Are Women Artists) which turned into six annual events showcasing up-and-coming female performers in music, dance, theatre, and visual arts. Amanda has also collaborated with organizations like Apathy is Boring for MTV/Much Music PSA encouraging youth to vote and contributed her writing to the Gemini-nominated web community for young girls Cranky Town.
